PaintingMy first encounter with abstract painting was in Dallas, TX, during a furniture shopping escapade. I saw a large abstract painting (48″x 60″) of the Dallas skyline. I had never seen abstract painting before this and was mesmerized with the simplicity of the compositions and the color arrangements. Many years later, I studied abstract painting with a professional Abstract Painter, and experimented with watercolor, acrylics, and mixed media. I love the freedom, the spontaneity, and the intuitive process of making this type of artwork.

PhotographyMy first camera was a Yashica, a manual camera. I used black & white film and manually set up the meters to capture the light. In college I studied Photography and learned dark room techniques to process and print black and white photos. I also learned micro photography and techniques to process color photos. With the advancement of technology, cameras changed, and I indulged myself with a digital camera to capture the exquisite beauty of nature. My study of abstract painting, gave me the ability to “see” abstraction in nature through the lens of digital cameras.
